The summer is over and, after a few months of living a little freer than usual, it’s natural to turn your attention back to work and perhaps think about sprucing up your office a little. So why not think a little more radically than usual?
One of the things we love about working at Pash Classics is the way in which the 20th-century design classics we offer are frequently appropriated for use in settings for which they weren’t originally intended. So, while we have a wide range of office furniture including some fabulous Eames chairs, we also really enjoy it when customers take some of our bolder, statement pieces and insert them in a work environment.
Placing a couple of Arne Jacobsen Egg Chairs or a George Nelson Marshmallow sofa in reception really says something about your business, especially if you are a young and vibrant company or working in the creative industries. This is the kind of furniture sure to leave an impression on clients and to make colleagues smile.
Also, if you are business that thrives on ideas – and that can mean operating in any sector from IT to architecture – then being around good design can really get everyone’s brains working at full capacity. Certainly, dank walls and cheap plastic chairs do not create an environment conducive to getting the most out of your grey matter.
If these statement pieces seem just a little too radical, then there are plenty of other options. An Orange Slice Chair by Pierre Paulin is both fun and business-like, while a Florence Knoll sofa makes a statement about restrained tastefulness like almost no other piece of furniture. Accessorise either of these with an Achille Castiglioni Arco floor lamp, and you are creating a work environment that will really help you to stand out from your peers.
So, as we head into the winter months, why not fight off the cold weather, back-to-work blues with some new furniture that will help to communicate the right message about your business and also help make your workplace just a little more productive?
