The plastic fantastic rocking chair.
A development of the Eames DAR - the world’s first plastic, mass-produced chair designed for a 1948 competition to create low cost furniture - the Eames RAR rocking chair is an absolute delight. The DAR is known as the “Eiffel” chair because of the resemblance of its metal frame to the Paris landmark, but the RAR replaces this structure with a stainless steel, black coated set of legs and beech wood rockers. This unexpected touch brings a playful edge to a chair that already oozes joyousness thanks to its use of bright, bold plastics to create a highly relevant style of modern furniture. The signature moulded plastic seat adds a surprising amount of flexibility, turning the chair in to the perfect nursing or reading seat.
Mid grey works with every style of interior, so If you were unsure whether to go light or dark, this is the colour we recommend.
